Kesenthri & Yolan got married At the Hellenic Hall in Durban North. They are an amazing couple and we had such an amazing time working with them. Here are a few words from our couple.
Tell us your love story! How did it all start and how did the journey lead to a proposal?
We met at a concert in Johannesburg in 2012. After secretly checking each other out all night, Yolan finally decided to make some random and very funny small talk. Later that night after great technical difficulties and with a little help from our friends we were able to swap numbers! A few days later we went on our first date and have been inseparable ever since! On our 2nd anniversary Yolan planned a surprise trip to Cape Town. Whilst watching the sunset over Camps bay on a roof top deck, Yolan went down on one knee and popped the question! After lots of happy tears, he finally got a ‘Yes’ and so started our happily ever after…
Tell us what the inspiration behind your wedding was? How was your wedding fitting to your style and personality?
We wanted an elegant, soft romantic feel to the wedding. We decided on a white and silver colour scheme and since pink is the bride’s favourite colour, we decided to add some of these elements as well. We tried to incorporate both our personalities in the wedding décor. The bride got pink flowers and tons of bling . The groom got…batman on the wedding cake;)
Where did you get married and what did you love about your venue?
We got married at the Hellenic Community center in Durban North. The venue was recommended to us by our suppliers as they have worked there before and advised that it was a great space to work in. We loved the space in the hall and that it could accommodate all our guests with ample parking.
Do you have any tips and advice for couples planning a wedding?
Start planning early!! That way everything is taken care of well ahead of time and you can just enjoy the big dayJ
Did your wedding include any do-it-yourself projects?
No we left everything to the professionals, there was no room for error. That’s what happens when a scientist marries and engineer;)
Tell us about your experience working with us!
Working with Matt was an absolute pleasure! We booked him for the big day without even meeting him, as the work we saw on his website spoke for itself. We then met Matt for our engagement shoot and were so thrilled with our choiceJ Matt’s friendly, warm personality made us feel so relaxed and we had so much fun at the shoot, even in the rain! On the big day Matt and his amazing team went above and beyond what we expected to make sure we got the best pictures possible.
