Tell us your love story! How did it all start and how did your journey lead to a proposal? Giorgio and I have known each other literally all our lives. We went to the same church ever since we were very little. We became very good friends over the years. We loved talking to each other all the time and after many many conversations and before we knew it, we were in love and very happy! Shortly after that I had to relocate to Jhb which we thought might not be the best thing for our relationship, but we decided to try and make it work. The distance really made our relationship and love much stronger. We have been dating for 8 years, 5 years have been long distance. On our 5 year anniversary, Giorgio asked me to marry him at the Oyster box hotel over a sunrise breakfast. He fumbled and whispered will you marry me and I giggled and shouted yes! We didn't decide to get married straight away as we were still doing long distance and didn't want to be married and apart from each other. So we waited a while and eventually Giorgio moved to Jhb and we immediately set a date! And now we can't wait to spend the rest of lives together.
Tell us what the inspiration behind your wedding was? How was your wedding fitting to your style and personality?
Giorgio & I are both very out-going, fun, chilled individuals and we wanted our wedding to really be a reflection of who we are. We wanted it to be simple yet elegant but at the same time chilled and relaxed. My favourite colour is pink, so we definitely had to include all shades of pink as part of our theme
Where did you get married and what did you love about your venue?
Maroupi Farm in Umhlali. I fell in love with this venue the moment I saw it! It was everything I wanted my venue to be! I love how natural and simple yet absolutely stunning the place is. The venue displayed the chilled, relaxed look that we were going for. The Garden area and space was perfect for my ceremony and the reception area was ideal to accommodate the number of guests.
Do you have any tips and advice for couples planning a wedding?
Dont leave anything for the last minute! Plan in advance and book all key suppliers early so you get the best. Dont stress, relax, be happy and smile - it is going to be one of the best days of your life!
Did your wedding include any do-it-yourself projects?
No DIY projects However, I did plan everything and found suppliers to action what i had envisaged.
