After 8 years of dating, an overseas move and a European proposal, Sarah and Leslie finally tied the knot on home soil! Such a privilege to be a part of their big day. Check out their full story below: Tell us your love story! How did it all start and how did your journey lead to a proposal?
It all started just after my 21st birthday in 2008, on facebook of all places :) We have mutural friends on facebook, I saw his picture and sent him a message saying...hey cuttie, and he was hooked hahahaha I know this sounds really lame, but we became best friends&1 year last I flew to Switzerland to meet him ( he's from JHB) but had moved to Europe to persue his racing dreams. I plucked up the courage and moved over in 2009. in 2013 he popped the question, and finally after 8 years, I got to marry not only the man of my dreams, but also my best friend.
Tell us what the inspiration behind your wedding was? How was your wedding fitting to your style and personality?
I would describe ourselves as smart casual, we casual and layed back, but always have a touch of smart, or in my case something striking or a little bling. I wanted our big day to be just that, casual (raw wooden tables and elegant perspex chairs) but somewhat 'groomed' with clean lines, but still striking (hanging flowers) with a touch of bling. As the venue is so beautiful, I wanted to strip back from all the 'normal' table cloths, drapes and fairy lights to show off its bare beauty.
Where did you get married and what did you love about your venue?
We chose to get married at Eagles Cry, as not only is the venue, setting and the views absolutley breath taking, but the incredible mother&daughter team make all the difference. They are so passionate, professional, friendly and understanding, straight after meeting June&Penny,we just knew we had found the perfect venue. I still remember the first time we visited the venue, we were welomed with such warmth, smiles and hugs, on our way home Leslie turned and said to me ''you didn't tell me that you knew the owners'' to which I responded..''I don't''.
Do you have any tips and advice for couples planning a wedding?
Elope hahahahah just kidding Don't stress the small stuff, and try take it all in as the day goes by in a flash. I almost wish we could do it all over again just to take it all in. And hire all the vendors listed below :)
