We feel honoured and privileged to have been a part of this day. Tracey & Byron, your love for each other is infectious. Read their full story below: Tell us your love story! How did it all start and how did your journey lead to a proposal?
We met through mutual friends, I was invited to a new years eve party in 2008 which ended up being at traceys parents house. We got each others numbers and just stay in contact. Over the years we helped eachother with eachothers' relationships and any issues we may have had. And early 2013 the stars lined up and we found eachother were finally both available and we started off slowly... Took me two years, I then knew... She was the one. I planned the proposal 4 months proir and did the traditional thing and sat her parents down and asked for their daughters hand in marraige. There were many tears and three conditions: 1) I had to love her as much as the dad loved the mom. 2) adore her as much as the dad adored the mom. 3) cherish her as much as the dad cherished the mom. Deal!!! So I went off and designed tracey's ring, kept it a secret and planned a holiday to visit my dad in knysna where I got my knee dirty on the beach under an amazing sunset... And here we are!
Tell us what the inspiration behind your wedding was? How was your wedding fitting to your style and personality?
Pretty much all our mates will agree, we are very practical people, we are not interested in the frilly things. We love the simplicity and the beauty in nature.
Where did you get married and what did you love about your venue?
The venue was Bellwood in the KZN Midlands... Reason being - tracey loved the old barn chapel! Its a stunning place with amazing gardens and scenery you would only find on a hallmark postcard.
Do you have any tips and advice for couples planning a wedding?
Get as much done in advance as possible!!! Be realistic with your budget. Dont get caught up with your thoughts on what others are going to think of the day, rememeber the day is for you, your marraige, not a design event for a crit.
Did your wedding include any do-it-yourself projects?
Yes!! Pretty much everything we did was a do-it-yourself project. This is where family is amazing, tracey's cousins kelly, stacey and aunt beverley were super heroins. From making the stationery to the cupcakes to the amazing flower arrangements. Myself and my groomsman jarryd king cut up the wood discs for the centre pieces. And I cut up and sorted the jenga blocks from strips of pine.
Tell us about your experience working with us!
This has been the easiest and most enjoyable thing! I can speak for myself and say that I hate photos, I dont pose for photos, but Matt and the team are so amazing!
